Tanning bed - Best Sunless Tanning

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

The sun is the number one enemy of your skin for, along with that beautiful tan, it will also give you wrinkles and worse, serious skin diseases such as cancer. Therefore, it is recommended to wear lotion that blocks the UVA and UVB rays from the sun which are responsible for causing wrinkle and skin cancer.
But, many argue that they don’t get the tan they want if they apply the various lotions to protect themselves and therefore turn to the next best thing, staying out of the sun but still getting the gorgeous tan from a tanning bed.

The Advantages Of Tanning Beds
Tanning beds are great because they can provide you the same effects but without having to lay under the sun for hours on end; in other words, you get your tan in half the time and best of all when you want and not when it is possible.
You can have the healthy tan look year round by using tanning beds and usually the tan keeps longer in winter time as well. Tanning beds come in two types horizontal and vertical so you can choose which suits you best.

Useful Tanning Tips
Whether you use directly the sun rays or a tanning device to obtain your tan make sure that it is done in dozes that are not harmful to your skin. Protect yourself with the essential lotions to block the harmful UVA and UVB rays. The paler your skin, the more exposed you are to the harmful damages of the sun rays.

Tanning Bed Free Information

Tanning beds are used for different reasons in different places all across the world. In the US, tanning is more seasonal. It is most often used as a way to jump start the tanning process, so that once the summer begins, they can go to the beach or enjoy other outdoor activities and already have a significant base tan built up. This is also why tanning lotions and bronzers are more commonly used in the US.
Europeans may enjoy tanning seasonally, but less so than Americans. This is due to many areas in Europe having significantly fewer days of sunshine than the USA, so Europeans are more likely to use a tanning bed all year long. European tanning beds generally use a different type of lamp as well, with UVB ratings in the 1% to 3% range. These lamps have less UVA and will produce a sunburn quicker, but many Americans seem to like them because a short session produces a “reddening”, or instant gratification. These lamps actually produce a slower deep tan (but a faster base tan) that fades faster, but are simply marketed as “hotter”, although technically they have about the same amount of UV but with different ratios of UVA and UVB.

Tanning Beds - General Information

General Information on Tanning Beds
A tanning bed or sunbed is a device emitting ultraviolet radiation used to produce a cosmetic tan. There are also “high pressure” tanning beds that generate primarily ultraviolet radiation by using highly specialized quartz lamps, reflector systems and filters. These are less common and much more expensive, thus less commonly used. On the other hand, a tanning booth is quite similar to a tanning bed, but the individual stands while tanning and the typical power output of booths is higher.
